Did you know there are underground tunnels in Houston lined with shops and services? They connect parking structures to office complexes with everything humans need to exist and consume, below ground. Why? Because in the summer, the heat and humidity are so high, the idea of walking above ground, even short distances, is unbearable.

When you’re driving around downtown Houston and it looks apocalyptic, remember, all the humans are inside, or underground. Never a need for pedestrian control here!
